Governance at AIBI HE

The reputation of AIBI HE hinges on excellence in decision making. Good governance plays an important role in decision making by ensuring the Institute meets its strategic, educational, legislative, and community responsibilities.

The centerpiece of corporate governance is a formally constituted governing body, which at AIBI HE is referred to as the Corporate Board. The Corporate Board is accountable for the governance and performance of the entity overall, including, in the case of registered higher education providers, meeting and continuing to meet the requirements of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015 (HESF 2015).

Governance at AIBI HE follows the traditional model of Australian universities, with the primary strategic level decision makers being the Corporate Board, which has delegated authority for academic matters to the Academic Board, and delegated authority for operational matters the Executive Management Committee. These committees are established to meet external statutory and non-statutory requirements.

The Academic Board at AIBI HE will have sub-committees to support its activities, in particular the Program Advisory Committee, Learning and Teaching Committee and Assessment Review Committee.

The following diagram summarises the relationship between AIBI HE governance committees.
